The other day we were wondering what employees in open-plan offices do when they need some privacy to talk on the phone but can’t find a quiet place. Most will probably go into a hallway or a staircase. Some might go outside and freeze in the cold. However, would anyone really dare to retreat to the toilet? We wanted to find out!

In our online survey*, a whooping 26% of people working in open-plan offices admitted that they have taken calls in the toilet because they couldn’t find any other quiet place to do so. Seems like there aren’t enough soundproof office phone booths wherever they work.

Just make sure you go on mute before flushing the toilet!
